The Lighthouse is in Island Bay just 10 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from Wellington City centre. Local shops and cafes are a short walk away. The Lighthouse has the kitchen area and bathroom on the first floor, the bedroom on the middle floor and the sitting room with a view on the top floor. Unique and romantic. You can sleep on the top floor as long as you are prepared to be woken by the sun rising across the bay.

You can arrive at 2pm and stay until 12noon the next day. A good range of breakfast things are there to choose from Great views - park right outside - good buses to city

$180 weekdays and $200 Fridays or Saturdays

Arrival and departure times
As a general rule people are welcome to arrive any time after 2pm and leave by noon the following day. If your arrival and departure times were not finalised at the time of confirming your booking please let us know before the day so that we can arrange to welcome you when you arrive.

Breakfast
A range of breakfast foods is available for you to choose from and prepare for yourselves whenever you wish in the morning. If you have particular diet requirements please let us know before you arrive. Thanks.

Local food
There are a number of eating opportunities within walking distance (5-10 mins) of the Lighthouse. There is a fish and chip shop, the restaurant/café Kai, dairy and pizzeria at the bus terminus in Island Bay, and ‘The Bach’ café further around the coast.

Kitchen
There is an area for basic cooking and heating food. Tea, coffee, milk etc are stocked.

Ground floor
The entrance, kitchen, dining bench, bathroom and a bag store are on this floor.

First floor
This has the bed and television/video (you don’t have to watch TV.).

Top floor
This is the studio/lookout with a settee and access to the top balcony.

Parties
The Lighthouse is not suitable for and is not available for parties.

Walks
A short walk onto the beach, a fossick in the rocks or longer walks around the coast or to the seal colony at Red Rocks.

Buses
There is regular bus transport to the city from the bus
terminal in Island Bay.
